money, rubber-duckies, stars, wigs and other doggie delights

pepperDebbie Hulleman owns an 8-year-old black Labrador-German shorthair named Pepper.  Recently,  Pepper got into a purse belonging to a friend of Debbie's mother and ate an envelope containing cash.

Shortly afterward, Pepper threw up some of the bills.  At the time, Debbie thought she had recovered all the money Pepper had eaten.  Then, Debbie went on vacation, leaving Pepper at home.

Upon her return, Debbie went to clean up her yard and noticed a $50 bill sticking out of a brown pile.  Then she found more browned cash.  And more cash. And more. She even found a half a hundred dollar bill.  All told, she recovered $647 from piles of poop strewn about her yard.

Fortunately, she is able to exchange the brown cash for fresh green bills. To exchange the smelly money, however, she needs 3/4ths of the original bill.  So, Debbie is hoping that the other half of the hundred dollar bill shows up sometime soon.

And.... in a similar story... The People's Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA) in the UK published its  list of the top 10 weirdest items that pets swallowed this year.

Included on the list of dog-swallowed objects are:

a rubber duck (see x-ray)
a 10-inch tent peg
a man's wig
a star-shaped Christmas decoration (see x-ray)
a fishing hookstarxray_440x370
a baby's doll
a kitchen knife
a box of chocolates
corn on the cob (that is, on the cob)

For other items on the list (which includes some things that my own Scotty has eaten… underwear, socks, shoelaces) click link below.
