Earlier this month, Kenneth "Tex" Roberts died unexpectedly of a heart attack. A few days later, Tex's family gathered at their church for a viewing of the body and for the funeral.
The body was wearing the correct blue suit and black boots. Some of the family and friends kissed the body and said goodbye.
But something seemed strange.
The guy in the casket just didn't look quite right. Either Tex had grown a little taller since his death, or there was something wrong.
Some family members went to the funeral director and asked why the man in the casket looked different. The funeral director assured the family that the man in the casket was Tex. He explained that a corpse is made-up and posed.
After the two-hour viewing the funeral home finally admitted that they had brought the wrong body to the church.
"They tried to make us believe that it was him." said the widow.
The funeral was postponed. The James L. Hawkins Funeral Home has not released a comment.
