robber foiled by sloppy handwriting

This week, a 30-year-old woman in Hillsboro, Oregon approached a teller at the Wells Fargo Bank and handed the teller a hand-written note. The teller looked at the note and handed it back to the woman. "I'm sorry, but I can't make out your handwriting."

The woman didn't want to speak the message of the note, so, she backed away from the window and dutifully rewrote her note on a bank slip.

When she returned to the window, she handed the newly-written note to the teller. The penmanship was much better. The note said, "Need $300 or I'll kill you. I'm serious."

Fortunately the teller had understood enough of the first note to realize that she should pull the silent alarm while the woman rewrote it. The Police were soon on-hand and arrested the woman.

There should not be much trouble convicting her, since they have neatly-written documented evidence.
