young thug attacks older boxer. guess who wins.

Seeing the bruised-and-bloody face of a 23-year-old doesn't usually make people smile... but here might be an exception:

Gregory McCalium, 23, broke into a home in Botley, Oxford, England with intent to collect some things that didn't belong to him. Unfortunately for him, the owner of the home, Frank Corti, age 72, was home at the time.

Apparently thinking he had an easy mark, McCalium pulled a knife and threatened Mr. Corti with it. What McCalium didn't know at the time was that his would-be victim was a former boxer.

Corti gives this account of the event. "I was scared when he first drew the knife, but my old training must have kicked in because I just punched him as hard as I could and he went down like a sack of spuds..."

A sack of spuds indeed. Corti dodged the knife and delivered just two quick punches to McCalium's head-- one to the eye and one to the mouth. The picture (above) shows the success of the punches. After Corti disabled McCalium, he restrained him until the police arrived.

McCalium was tried in Oxford Crown Court on Monday. He was sentenced to four-and-a-half years in prison for aggravated burglary. The judge added that he "got what he deserved."
